Been a minute since I took the time, so let me do that. I’m just gonna set this to public so everyone can see and get caught up.
Aldean video (TLDR 2.7) was a successful failure; it did validate the proof-of-concept in terms of what I’m trying to do long-term including with this site, documenting my work, transparency, and production efficiency. It was a failure in terms of the way this whole project management thing and the portal you’re looking at now popped up in the middle of it, consequently what should have been solid sub-viral content was mostly an afterthought. I could’ve abandoned the whole thing, but I felt like seeing that one project through to at least some extent was important for the sake of real-world system analysis of all these tools and things I’ve been implementing, including things like new/updated video and image templates (on which I still have a big chunk of work to do, but TLDR is 95% where it should be and the last 5% is me cleaning it all up, organizing, and officially updating the template file from the work I did on the last project file that applied that template). Also a failure in the sense of I generated about half the content out of it that I originally intended, but again the value of the lessons learned far outweighs any sense of failure about that one episode of one show.
Right this minute I’m in the middle of cleaning up all of the project documentation on 2.7 and setting up for 2.8-2.12. Broadly the topics or working titles of those are:
- 2.8 Evolution
- 2.9 Trumpism
- 2.10 Doctor, Doctor
- 2.11 What Is Life?
- 2.12 Sagan Quote
Each of these should produce at least one TLDR (~<5m), one short (<1m), and one transcript article. Some may have multiple associated articles in various places like Medium, or multiple associated videos on platforms like Instagram and TikTok. Probably a few memes and things to be generated as well, we’ll see what we get out of it when we get into it. I am hoping no more than another hour or two on the back-end stuff, then I start digging open the projects, seeing exactly where I am with each of them, and deciding how to approach finishing them off. I may just production-line it, take two-three more days of low content, and then have them all racked up in nice matched sets to drop over the next week or so while I’m working on the next set. None of them are super time-sensitive, although two are written around that “doctor” in Ohio who just got her license revoked so I ought to try and get those done while she’s still floating around in the news.
But also, I need income and that tends to depends a great deal on producing content. I’m trying with all I’ve got to not let that reality pressure me into giving the work less respect than it deserves. That’s been a weakness with what I’m doing for a long time, in my opinion, and I’m setting it right as best I can. Don’t forget that at least until the 28th of this month I’m part of Facebook’s “Bonus Program” whereby they are paying me for your likes, comments, and shares, so please please do that with everything I post. That counts as “support” too, indirect though it may be. And hey it’s my birthday in six days, so why not?
So I’m at work, but also I have to eat and pay bills and stay alive and continue trying to keep and/or upgrade equipment so I can work more effectively. Please do remember to swing by and pitch in at https://paypal.me/JohnHenryUS, join the Patreon at https://patreon.com/JohnHenry for as little as $5 a month, or there are a ton of options including weekly and monthly recurring support without having to get wrapped up in Patreon as well as CashApp and more at https://johnhenry.us/support.
There is no moment of the day when $5 or $50 or $500 or $5000 is not needed and will not be put immediately to productive use creating and improving content as well as keeping me alive to produce it. On my own behalf as well as that of all those who have supported my work over the years, thank you.
Let me get back to it. You’ll start seeing links for the new projects in the menu here in just a bit, you’ll be able to view them if you’re logged in.
